Dear Friends,

As 2022 comes to a close, I am filled with tremendous pride and gratitude. Throughout this year, charter public school students, families, teachers, and staff had many moments to celebrate.

Our students embraced challenges and stood up for their values, like Pioneer Valley Performing Arts student Charlotte, who biked 300 miles to Seneca Falls, NY to inspire voter participation, and like  Global Learning student Xavier, who led two school-wide fundraisers to support hurricane recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.

Our students shined as they shared their tremendous talents, like Boston Collegiate student Marley, whose beautiful painting was awarded the prestigious Scholastic Silver Key Award, and like Brooke seventh grader Sulayman, who competed in the national spelling bee.

Our educators led with love and dedication, working hard to create an environment in which students felt seen and welcomed and could make meaningful progress each day.

Our community lifted our voices to advocate for students, working to ensure our elected officials recognize the value of our schools and the potential our children possess.

The photo collage below highlights just some of these incredible moments. I look forward to the many more memories we will make and successes we will achieve together in 2023.

Thank you for being such a valued part of our charter public school community. Wishing you and yours all the best in the year to come.

Gratefully,

Tim Nicolette
Executive Director, Massachusetts Charter Public School Association

My child is a creative type, and though they are quite bright and capable, it didn’t ever seem that a traditional school was going to be the right fit for our family. We knew that the test-based environment of traditional public schools was going to make our child shut down – that kind of inadvertent competitive learning just wasn’t in their nature.

When we learned about Parker and its child-centered learning approach, and how the kids are really only working on their own individual progress, we knew we had to enter the lottery.

Our child seems so happy with the environment there and has found a welcoming and supportive community. We feel so grateful that this kind of learning environment exists and believe that our child will flourish."
